Many public transit authorities have an interest in introducing or expanding their use of zero-emission electric buses. Given the benefits, it’s no surprise why. But the move does not come without its own set of challenges. Battery range is top of mind for most. The HVAC system is the largest electrical load on a transit bus, requiring as much as 40% of the total available electrical energy. It doesn’t have to be this way. All-electric HVAC systems can have the ability to lighten the load on the batteries. Reducing power consumption provides the capability to increase range of the bus and save you money, without sacrificing rider comfort.

Improved interior temperature control throughout the bus cabin for a consistent customer experience. Reduced noise for a quieter and more comfortable riding experience due to backwards inclined blowers and increased variable speed fans.
Reduced Total Cost of Ownership
Improved reliability by reducing parts that need repair, leading to a reduction in parts replacement, maintenance, and service costs by eliminating additional compressor, coil, and second controller.
Integrated Battery Thermal Management System
The Battery Thermal Management System is integral to the unit, reducing the need for a second compressor, additional coil, and second controller. This also improves battery coolant temperature control and reduces refrigerant connections and leak points.
